THIS IS IT

 

 

On June 25th one month after Mack was born the King of Pop, Michael Jackson was pronounced dead after paramedics found him in a coma at his Bel-Air mansion in Los Angeles.  This news was a shock to me and I was saddened to see such a star leave us.  The whole situation reminded me of Marilyn Monroe's death.  The way I feel is summed up well by Elton John's lyrics, "the candle burned out long before the legend ever did".  He is a legend and has a talent of music, dance and performing that is very rare, to find at such a level.  I will never forget dressing up in my Guess coveralls and performing a dance routine to Black or White at a competition.  Or when I spent a summer perfecting my performance of Thriller with my cousin Savannah for the Farm Bureau Talent Find.  His music brings out a fire within me to just get up and dance, dance, dance and dance more.  Even when he was on trial for his behavior with children I did not let it change my love for his music and talent.  I happened to have a friend that filmed the documentary on him that showed his daily life after the accusations.  He showed Michael love for life and the world we live in.


I had a chance to go to THIS IS IT over the weekend with my mom and sister and was fascinated watching Michael perform one last time.  The show was amazing and left you wanted more.  It was a trip down memory lane cause all of his music has such a history and memory for me.  He was kind to all in the show and such an amazing dancer.  He one again sparks the desire in to dance.  If you have not seen the movie; go you will not regret it.  I promise you will love it!

 I loved it so much that I am making Adam and Mack view it with me again.  I can't let them miss out on the best show/performance of the year.  We love you Michael!
