The Time Has Come

The time has come that I face my fears and start doing what I use to love again.  Now I am sure this makes no sense but let me explained.  There was a time in my life that I hated to run and then one day I decided to overcome it by entering in a lottery for the St. George Marathon.  Well I made it and in the race and the misery began as I slowly started my running schedule.  The first month was hell and I thought that time stood still as I ran, ran, ran down canyon lane road each morning.  Then days went by, weeks went by, months went by, and I was addicted.  There is nothing that feels better than running beyond 3 miles and then the satisfaction you feel and adrenaline that over comes you when you complete the course.  I love the hot or cold showers that follow shortly after finishing a run.  I love the tingling sensation in your legs from fatigue.  I love how clear my thoughts are and I love how after each race I feel I can concur anything that life brings.  Oh how I love running!  I have ran 3 marathons in my life and enjoyed the journey that  each one of them have brought me.  I never thought my running would come to a stop but then when  I became pregnant they suddenly did.  It's been what seems like forever since I really went on a good run.  The thought of it scares me.  This new fear has to end and my running days are not over.  I am dedicating the next 12 weeks to get back on track and run the Salt Lake 1/2 Marathon. With Mack being so little I don't have the time to dedicate or the enough sleep at night to take on 26.7 miles but I do know that I can run 13 miles.  I am going to get "back in the saddle" and run.  Now lets hope that Mack loves his chariot jogger cause he is going on some runs with mom.

Good for you chica!! When is the Salt Lake City 1/2 marathon? We need to talk because I've always wanted to run in a marathon...so I figure why not start now? In this new chapter in my life, why not take on all the things I've always wanted to do. So let's chat and figure out a good game plan to prepare for the marathon=)

You know it!!
If you have a hard run, just think about your friends that are out there running too...we feel your pain! And remember, we will be there on race day, doing it together!! Yippeeee!

Oh I so wish I could do this with you! I was running before I got pregnant and my goal was to run a half marathon. I have only completed 5k's so far but thats good for me. I will definitely be back to running once this baby girl is here! You are lucky to have good trails right by your house too! Good Luck girl, I know you can do it!
