It’s time to reflect and record the memories of the Mini. I designed my Mini Cooper Spring of 2005. I was coming close to finishing my Master Degree in Education Counseling, I was single, I had a good job, and the moment I saw a Mini Cooper my heart skipped a beat. I was at the corner of Trolley Square and 700 East when a Silver Cooper pulled up aside of me. I glanced over and could not stop staring at how cute the car looked. Then the next day I pulled into the parking lot of school getting ready to rush into class when I noticed that I happened to park next to a Chili Red Mini Cooper. That weekend my parents came to town and I took my mom and dad to the car lot to check out the vehicle. My dad test drove the car and about put the sales agent into a cardiac arrest as he changed gears without shifting, spun around corners at high speed, and turned a quick 180 into the parking lot. After the test drive I went home and studied the pamphlets and with a week I was back on the lot with my Uncle Markie ordering myself my own custom Mini Cooper. I received emails weekly updating me with the status of how my lil Coop was coming along. Then one day I got the call and the Mini was ready to be picked up. That night happened to be my first date with Adam. I picked up my car and then went to dinner with him. I remember at dinner I could not stop thinking about my Mini and was anxious to get the meal over with so we could go driving. I remember driving around in it and feeling so alive and full of energy. Adam and I had are first kiss in the Mini. I took my first Real Estate clients around the valley to look at houses in the Mini. The Mini was in our post wedding pictures. The night my water started to leak we ran out of gas in the Mini and Adam had to push me 9 months pregnant and starting into labor in the Mini to Smith’s Marketplace in Highland, Utah. Even after Mack was born Adam told me not to take him in it cause if we got into a wreck it was dangerous. I did the best I could not to drive it but every now and then Mack and I would take it for a joy ride. I would blast Madonna music, open the sunroof, and the two of us would just enjoy the ride.
I kept the Mini for as long as I could justify it, but my time with the Mini came to an end. On April 1st I drove the Mini America First Credit Union in Draper and sold it to a nice guy named Andy. Andy and his wife assured me that they would take great care of it. I know this post is dramatic but it was a dramatic day. I cried and cried as I drove it to be sold. The Mini was a fun part of my past and I will always have the memories.
I drove the Mini for it's first 71,000 miles and loved every minute of it. Even when I broke down with Mack and I on Bangerter Highway. Oh how much fun that Mini was to drive.

This makes me think of the photo shoot with your Landover at the park in West Jordan!
I was just thinking the other day if you sold your mini or not. Now I know. Thanks for the stories. I didn't know about the test drive with your dad. I can just picture you and your dad there wide-eyed and loving it and everyone else panicking! :)
