The first week of June we loaded up, boarded a plane and took Mack to Virginia for the first time. It was such a good trip. Mack was awesome at flying and slept most of the way on both legs of the flight there and on the flight back. I was nervous to travel that far with a one year old but Mack made it easy.
The first night we got there it was around 2:00 a.m. east coast time and Mack was asleep until we loaded him out of the car. We got into his Grandma Claudine's house and she was awake and happy to see us. I was changning Mack's diaper when all the sudden as soon as I pulled off the diaper he got scared and peed all over me. Of course I cleaned it up and Mack got to take his first bath in his Great Grandma Claudine's sink. We did not get to bed that night till almost 4:00 a.m. The next morning we woke up to Adam's mom and Mack's Grandma Martha (Granny Suzie). She came with sacks of clothes and toys for Mack. He loved it. We also took him to the Gypsy Hill Park that day to ride the train and explore. The park there is awesome. It reminds me of a mini Central Park.
While we were there we took Mack to the beach the first time. We went to Virginia Beach and stayed at the Sherton and we were treated like all stars cause of Mack. When we checked in we told the lady that it was Mack's first time to the beach. She upgraded our room for free for a full ocean view because of it. The maid saw Mack and feel in love with him. After cleaning our room she left us a letter saying that he was the cutest baby she had ever seen and left him a beach ball for the pool. I can't believe how many hooks we get with Mack.
On the trip Mack was also able to meet his Great Grandpa George Hamilton and Great Grandma Eva. They had us over for a big home cooked meal. I ate so much I was sick. Eva is an incrediable cook. Mack enjoyed running around in there backyard. They have an amazing view of the blue hills in their backyard. George held Mack and just smiled at him.
Also while we were there Grandma Martha (Granny Suzie)'s boyfriend Charlie made us an Italian dish. Charlie is from New York and speaks fluent Italian. He loves his food and is a great cook. The meatballs he made were good. Mack loved eating noddles.
Some other big news is that while we were on our trip I noticed that Mack's little feet were squeezed into his shoes. On the way to the beach we stopped at Nordstrom and bought him a new pair of shoes. He instantly smiled, shouted and took off walking all over the store. He had started walking a few steps on Memorial Day at my Grandma Nielson's house but this was a full on walk. I think his feet were just swished in his shoes that he did not like to walk. Once he had room he just took off. Everyone in the store that he walked by just stopped and smiled as he past.
Mack also was able to go to his buddy Aden's birthday party. Aden is Adam's childhood friend Ben Davis's son. They were so cute hanging out together.
Oh I could go on and on about the trip. It was a success and a really fun time for everyone.
