Kenny McGill

Our Dear Friend Kenny McGill passed away on November 13th, 2010.  Here is what my sister Stacy wrote about him. 

I am so sorry for your loss.  I would like to thank you for sharing Kenny with my family. My fondest memory is in Elko, Nevada, where we would eat at the casino cafe about 2 to 3 times a day.  My dad (Larry Winn) and Kenny went to eat lunch without us one day. We all know Kenny and his favorite part about eating is the desert, so he ordered a shake. I guess he didn't drink all of it, my dad got on Kenny about wasting food and money.  If you know my dad he isn't very quite he is pretty loud.  Later that day we went back over to eat dinner, all of us this time.  When the waitress came over to take our order Kenny leaned over and said “will you share a shake with me” I said “okay, but why can't you have your own”.  Kenny explained that Larry got after him earlier for not finishing one.  At that point the waitress started to laugh and said “that's right he can't have one if he can't finish it”.  I looked over at my dad and his embarrassed face confirmed it all.  Kenny and I both started laughing at how silly it all sounded.  I of course shared a shake with Kenny.  Kenny loved his deserts.  At restaurants the minute the waitress would approach Kenny would ask what is your desert before even thinking or looking over the main course.  Kenny was important to my family.  We all looked forward to having him with us on family vacations to the horse races.  He was like the brother I never had.  He brought a lot of laughs and joy to my family.  He will leave a hole in all our hearts.  Good-bye Kenny.  Please all remember when you go out to eat Kenny’s favorite saying “DESERT FIRST!”
